A gigantic radiation machine revolving around you while you're all alone in a medical bunker: a treatment in the Leuven proton therapy centre can be pretty frightening for children. To familiarise them a bit with what will happen in the hospital, a Lego building set was devised.

21 January '217sur7 : 'Un nouveau pas vers le premier centre wallon de protonthérapie à Charleroi'
Le 13 décembre 2018, le gouvernement wallon a annoncé officiellement la signature de la convention relative au partenariat d’innovation technologique (PIT) “Prother-wal”, projet à la base du financement du futur centre de protonthérapie wallon. Celui-ci doit prendre place sur le site de l’Hôpital Civil Marie Curie à Lodelinsart (Charleroi). Une nouvelle étape vient d’être franchie dans cette direction.

12 December '18Walloon government invests € 47 million in proton therapy centre
On December 13th 2018, the Walloon government approved the granting of a subsidy of 47 million euros intended to finance the Wallonia-Brussels proton therapy center. This will combine research, patient treatment and technological development.
