On December 13th 2018, the Walloon government approved the granting of a subsidy of 47 million euros intended to finance the Wallonia-Brussels proton therapy center. This will combine research, patient treatment and technological development.

Ensuring sustainability
This project brings together 4 universities, 6 Walloon and Brussels hospitals and the IBA company in an original way. For UNamur, NARILIS is the partner of this ambitious research program called Prother-Wal.
The center will be housed in a brand new building to be built in Charleroi. In order to ensure the sustainability of this center, a public company, ProtonW.be, was created; UNamur is a partner.
